10k steps
1-ingredient foods
3x workouts a week
8-hour eating window

Alright.

So it’s week 2 and you already didn’t start your fitness journey.

“What do, I do?”

Here’s what you don’t do.

“Well, I already fucked up” – mindset

We have all been there,

That’s how our minds work, don’t know why, but most of us have an all or nothing mindset.

I think what it comes down to is momentum. One decision leads to the next.

(and it’s usually in the same direction)

So what to do?

Be aware of that “well I already” thought next time it pops up..

Call bullshit on yourself.

My last decision has nothing to do with my next decision.

Then decide that the next decision will be the right one.

(Rarely does it take me more than 3)

Just take last week for example, I wasn’t perfect, and I’m running this show lol

But here’s some notes I had from last week,

I wanted to get more sleep, but I didn’t.

Why?

I was so busy with working my 9-5 for Mark Moss’s producer while trying to start an Open Source Fitness movement that I justified staying up and working, rather than my goal.

But in hindsight, I was extremely sluggish the next day.

Point is, the goal is there for a reason, nothing more nothing less. Simple just do.

How I plan to fix my problem

(I want to point out I made a plan to fix my plan)

Plan for how you can create less friction next time.

Thinking ahead is usually all it takes.

Accept that you fucked up, and that it's not a big deal that you fucked up. The big deal is making a big deal about fucking up.

I will say this though, if it ever feels overwhelming or stressful...

Cut down the protocol to just 10k steps and an 8 hour eating window.

Why?

(As, mentioned in the Alpha Blueprint)

Fasting fixes your body, which gives you energy by restoring your metabolism.

And walking focuses your mind.

While dropping weight like a clumsy waiter.

Here’s my results

I literally just did my 4 rules. My life didn’t change. Subtle actions drive the results. You don’t have to make tradeoffs to hit these goals, customize to your life just work within the Open Source Fitness Protocol.

Technically, I wasn’t supposed to take this photo for another 2 days (Sunday) but I’ll be drinking all day tomorrow because I'm going to the St Louis Cardinals game at 1:15 in the afternoon and I didn’t want to write this slightly hungover.

There’s a lesson here.. PLAN AHEAD. Still enjoy life.

10k Steps

Damn Fitbit died on Tuesday

10k is the goal, but honestly I do my best thinking when walking (like writing this newsletter) and it was nice out this week so got a ton of steps in.

If you are struggling to get started cut it down to 2 habits:

10k steps
8-hour eating window

That alone will reshape your body by losing body fat and increasing hormones, which increase energy and muscle (testosterone and HgH, it’s all in the blueprint..)

No gym required.

My Plan this Weekend

Plan for after drinking.

Because that shit is awful for you but sometimes I like to drink it, moderation is key. And by moderate I mean like a single day every week or two weeks. Nothing will improve your health faster than cutting down on alcohol.

Back to the Sunday plan after Saturday where I’ll be at the baseball game…

I’ll wake up, drink a shit load of water, then a black coffee, then get my ass on a outdoor trail or AC treadmill

(Paradox: movement helps the hangover. Also, don’t workout hungover more bad than good. Sauna / walk/ water)

To loop this back to where I started,

I don’t think what I do is hard. I think it's an uncommon practice.

I think after learning this information then feeling the results. I bet you won’t stop. You just need to reach escape velocity:

What I do vs what you think I do:

❌ I don’t skip social activities

✅ I have great habits 80% of time

❌ I don’t do cardio

✅ I walk 10k steps

❌ I don’t lift heavy weights

✅ I create time under tension

❌ I don’t skip carbs

✅ I eat fruits, honey and potatoes

P.S.

Goal is to feel healthy.

Once you feel it. You won’t fight it.
